About Us

Representative Burt Whaley, a Republican, proudly represents Stone and Christian Counties (District 138) in the Missouri House of Representatives. He was elected to his first two-year term in November 2024.

A native Missourian, Rep. Whaley has dedicated his life to public service and education. A United States Army veteran with 20 years of active duty and reserve service, he holds a BSE in Science Education, an MSE in Administration, and an EdSp Superintendent degree from CMSU. His 28-year career in education included roles as a biology teacher, administrator, and principal. He also served on the school board, advocating for students, parents, and the broader community.

Rep. Whaley's dedication to youth extends beyond the classroom. He has served as a Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) sponsor, a community action group member, a local youth center board member, and a coach for both high school athletics and youth leagues.

A devoted Christian, Rep. Whaley has been involved in local and international missions for over 40 years, participating in church and home-building projects in nine countries and leading youth camps and leadership training initiatives abroad.

In addition to his legislative duties, Rep. Whaley is active in his local church, the Stone County Republican Central Committee, and Veterans of the Ozarks. He is also a co-founder of the Stone County Missouri Republican Assembly.

Rep. Whaley is happily married to his wife, Leah. Together, they have four children—Ashley, Sarah, Rebekah, and Jacob—and twelve grandchildren.
