(Branson, MO) As the sun rose in the early hours of October 3rd, the community gathered at Branson Bank’s Highway 248 location to honor four local veterans for their service. At 7:30 a.m., Bill Jones, CEO of Branson Bank welcomed those in attendance and shared about the bank’s commitment to community and veterans.
“Honoring area veterans is at the heart of who we are as a community bank,” said Bill Jones, CEO. “Their service to country and community remind us of the true meaning of commitment, and we are honored to stand beside them-not just today, but every day.”
Jones invited Phillip Pringle, retired 1st Lieutenant and Chaplain of the Missouri National Guard to provide the prayer. Next, he introduced the Branson High School Air Force JROTC, under the direction of Major Gary Maki. Bob Smithers played Reveille by trumpet as the flag began to rise followed by the National Anthem sang beautifully by Jason and Desta Prichett.
The program continued by honoring the four most recent Branson Bank Veterans of the Quarter, numbers 57-60, sharing their stories and offering gratitude. Lyndi Carnelison, VP-Marketing Officer, introduced Maurica Riker-Jones, #57; Jon Arnold, VP-Finance & Risk Officer, introduced James Gilbert, #58; Brandy Wright, Core Systems Officer, introduced Ron Simmons, #59; and Eric Simkins, SVP-Community Lender, introduced Edward Verrill Jr., #60. Veterans were presented with a custom frame that included their photo and story.
Additional guest speakers include Missouri State Representative, Brian Seitz of District #156, who shared his ongoing support of veterans in the community and state. Dick Burkhalter, a representative of the Branson Bank Veteran of the Quarter selection panel and Veteran of the Quarter #47, discussed the nomination and selection process while expressing gratitude for those area businesses who support veterans.
Refreshments included muffins along with coffee from Vintage Paris.
The Branson Bank Veteran of the Quarter Program began in 2009 as a commitment to honor men and women living in Stone and Taney Counties who have served in the United States military. Nomination forms are available at each bank location and online. Veterans are selected by a committee comprised of past Veteran of the Quarter honorees.
