Hollister Students Join Rock Icons at Black Oak Amphitheater

 [August 12, 2025 - Lampe, MO] – In a once-in-a-lifetime moment, the Hollister High School Choir will perform live with rock legends Foreigner at Black Oak Amphitheater on Friday, September 12. The Choir will join the band on stage for their legendary hit “I Want to Know What Love Is,” bringing a wave of Ozarks pride to one of the most iconic songs in rock history.

This performance is part of Foreigner’s ongoing partnership with the Grammy Foundation aimed at spotlighting the importance of music education in public schools across North America. The band is donating $500 to the Hollister choir to support their music program and help keep the arts alive in the classroom.

"As far as I'm concerned, music is not only the most powerful form of communication between the peoples of the world, it provides a gateway that opens up a fantastic new dimension of feeling and creativity.  Anything we can do to provide our young ones with the tools to express themselves through music, is our goal in this partnership," Foreigner guitarist and founding member Mick Jones said.

The collaboration is more than just a performance – it’s a celebration of local talent, community support, and the power of music to unite generations. For the students of Hollister, it’s a chance to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with legends and show the Ozarks what they’re made of.

Foreigner’s commitment to giving back runs deep. In addition to their work with the Grammy Foundation, the band has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for originations like the Red Cross, Shriners Children’s Hospital, and VH-1’s Save the Music.
