Hope Counseling Center Invites Local Businesses to “Work the Slipper Shift” for Mental Health Awaren

Branson, MO - September 30, 2025 -
Hope Counseling Center is calling on local businesses to kick off their shoes and step into comfort for a cause. On Friday, October 10, World Mental Health Day, the nonprofit is launching its first-ever Slipper Shift campaign, inviting workplaces across the community to trade dress shoes, heels, or work boots for cozy (or silly) slippers in support of mental health awareness.

Wearing slippers symbolizes the comfort and security that good mental health brings. By joining the Slipper Shift, businesses help start conversations, break down stigma, and demonstrate their commitment to supporting accessible counseling services in the Ozarks.

“With nearly 18% of Taney and Stone counties’ residents struggling with poor mental health, it’s more important than ever to stand together as a community,” said Kyle David, Executive Director at Hope Counseling Center. “The Slipper Shift is a fun, visible way to raise awareness while making a real difference in the lives of those who are in need of counseling.”

With a minimum donation of $250, participating businesses will support counseling services for uninsured community members, receive Slipper Shift stickers for participating employees, a team photo in slippers, social media recognition, and a Certificate of Participation.
