Stone County Ambulance District Opens New Station to Serve Branson West and Kimberling City

BRANSON WEST, MO — March 2, 2026 — The Stone County Ambulance District (SCAD) proudly announces the opening of its new ambulance station in Branson West, marking a significant milestone in expanding emergency medical services coverage for the Branson West and Kimberling City communities. The facility officially opened on March 2, 2026, following an eleven‑month development and construction process.

The new station is a build‑to‑suit facility developed by Andy Mackey of Branson West EMS, LLC. When the Stone County Ambulance District Board of Directors was first seated, members identified the need for a “quick win” that would deliver immediate benefits to the community. This priority led to the district contracting with Mr. Mackey to deliver a purpose‑built EMS station in a strategically located service area.

Originally constructed as a metal building shell with three garage bays, the interior was completed by SMJ Builders to include fully functional crew quarters and operational infrastructure. The completed station features a living room, kitchen, and bedrooms accommodating four EMS personnel, as well as dedicated areas for equipment and medical supply storage. The facility is equipped with essential utilities and a back‑up generator to ensure continuous readiness for emergency response.

“We couldn’t be more thrilled with how this station turned out,” said Jeff Hawkins, Executive Director of the Stone County Ambulance District. “The quality of work and detailed design make this station very comfortable and functional for the EMS crews.”

Hawkins added that the new location enhances system deployment across the district. “Having this station allows us to move one of the doubled‑up crews in north Branson West further south. By spreading out our resources, we aim to reduce response times and improve service for the community.”

Mercy EMS began operating from the new station on March 2, 2026. “The crew members are appreciative of the ambulance district’s work to provide the new facility,” said Bob Patterson, Director of Mercy EMS. “It has been a long time coming, and we look forward to continuing our dedicated service for the community.”

The ambulance district is currently leasing the station from Branson West EMS, LLC under a lease‑to‑purchase agreement. At the conclusion of the lease term, the Stone County Ambulance District will acquire the facility outright. Designed with future growth in mind, the new station positions the district to meet the community’s emergency medical service needs for years to come.
