KIMBERLING CITY, Mo. — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Little Rock District is issuing a public statement to set the record straight regarding the closing of the private boat launch ramp at Table Rock Resorts at Kimberling, formerly Kimberling Inn.
Table Rock Resorts at Kimberling, formerly Kimberling Inn, previously held a Limited Motel/Resort Lease with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, allowing resort support facilities to be placed on public lands including a road, two boat docks, a parking lot, and boat ramp for registered overnight guests.
Motel/Resort leases are granted to qualifying resorts adjacent to public lands for the purpose of providing convenient high-quality lake related recreational amenities to their customers.
On March 1, 2024, Kimberling Crossing Development, LLC, purchased the resort and requested a lease transfer. USACE denied the request because the company sold resort units to individual owners, making it ineligible for a Limited Motel/Resort Lease.
Upon revocation of the lease, the lessee must vacate the premises, remove their property, and restore the premises to pre-existing condition.
In accordance with the lease, the boat ramp must be blocked no later than March 31, 2025, and the area restoration work complete May 31, 2025.
The Kimberling City area has four other public boat ramps and five resort ramps. While resort ramps are restricted to overnight guests, they may be accessible in emergencies. Additionally, multiple outgrants for roads and parking to boat docks could serve as emergency lake access points. Upon request, emergency officials can receive a detailed map outlining these access locations.
